Steve Ortega joined Westport Resources as a Professional Affiliate in March 2009. He is both a Registered Representative and a Registered Investment Advisor Agent, holding the following securities licenses:  Series 7, 63, 8 (principal) and 65 (investment advisor).  He additionally holds insurance licenses in life & health and variable products in the states of Connecticut and New York.

Mr. Ortega has over 20 years of industry experience in supervisory, management and client relationship roles, giving him a unique background and insight into the inner workings of the financial services industry and the tools available to provide top tier solutions to address client needs.

Prior to joining Westport Resources, Mr. Ortega spent six years at Bank of America where he provided clients with comprehensive planning, in-depth financial strategies and banking solutions to help them build and preserve wealth. At Westport Resources, Mr. Ortega continues to work with high net-worth families and small businesses, offering fee based asset management in addition to traditional brokerage products (equities, fixed income, annuities, mutual funds, etc.) and insurance products such as life and long-term care insurance.

Strategies devised through close collaboration with the client in the financial planning process are executed by Mr. Ortega with the best benefit to the client.

Westport Resources improves his ability to provide asset management, retirement planning, estate planning and educational funding solutions due to  the firm’s personalized approach and focus on serving clients in the local community, as well as their strong technology and execution platforms.

Steve is a former long time resident of Westport and still maintains many close relationships in town. His daughter Jackie attends Bedford Middle School, and Steve has served as part of the management of the Westport Cardinals Baseball Club for over 15 years.

Born and raised in New York City, Steve is an alumnus of the City University of New York, Queens College.
